Obama was reported by NYT (to boost his tough guy image for re-election) as personally signing off on the selection of targets for drone attacks in Pakistan. Here is his handiwork.

During the day I shook the hand of a 16-year-old kid from Waziristan named Tariq Aziz. One of his cousins had died in a missile strike, and he wanted to know what he could do to bring the truth to the west.

Then, three days later, the CIA announced that it had eliminated “four militants”. In truth there were only two victims: Tariq had been driving his 12-year-old cousin to their aunt’s house when the Hellfire missile killed them both. This came just 24 hours after the CIA boasted of eliminating six other “militants” – actually, four chromite workers driving home from work. In both cases a local informant apparently tagged the car with a GPS monitor and lied to earn his fee.

Too many “militants” are just young men with stubble. At least 174 have been children.

The New York Times reports that Obama first embraced a policy of taking no prisoners in order to avoid the embarrassing sore of Guantánamo. Then he accepted a method for assessing casualties that “counts all military-age males in a strike zone as combatants” unless there is explicit posthumous proof of their innocence – because they are probably “up to no good”.

Speaking at an event in Washington Monday, White House official John Brennan credited what he called the “surgical” and “laser-like precision” of drone strikes in helping to remove the “cancerous tumor” of terrorism without harming the “civilian tissue” around it.

Really? These people may be of a different opinion.

Pop Quiz on American Justice!

What should be the punishment for a person(s) who killed numerous innocent women & children? Specifically, 24 innocents killed including 10 women & children killed at point blank range. Shot in the head.

What should be the punishment?

a) Death Penalty

b) Life Imprisonment

c) Anything remotely approaching any semblance of an attempt at justice

d) A possible MAXIMUM sentence of three months of confinement, forfeiture of two-thirds of his pay for three months and a reduction in rank for the LEADER. EXONERATION for all others.

If you picked a, b or c, you failed. d) is the right answer. Ok, it was a trick question. All the dead were Iraqis, so they don’t matter. They were lesser human beings. Was this verdict juctice? No. My bad, typo. Was this verdict American justice? Oh, yes! Salute the troops, lets start the parade. The righteous and brave american warriors have saved the world (by executing babies, women & men). All hail USA.

And this is the remarkable american justice in “a case” that came to light in some of the media. The thousands others who have been massacred in Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan & all over the world, they have been spared this shining beacon of American justice.

US marine pleads guilty to Haditha killings

A US marine accused over the killing of 24 Iraqi civilians in the city of Haditha was demoted to the rank of private but will serve no time behind bars, a military spokesman has said.

Staff Sergeant Frank Wuterich, the last squad member to face justice after all the others were cleared, was sentenced to 90 days confinement but he will not serve it for procedural reasons, the spokesman said.

“the last squad member to face justice”. Hmm, is that what we call this farce? Justice. Seriously? USA, USA. Salute the troops. Shooting innocent people including point blank executions of children & women nets only 1 person a DEMOTION in rank while all others walk scot free. Justice? No. ‘American’ Justice? You betcha. NATO forced to admit killing of civilians in Libya

After staunch and oft repeated claims of no “confirmed” civilian casualties as a result of NATO bombings in Libya, that lie is firmly exposed. A study by reporters of only a SMALL SAMPLING of strike locations has provided that confirmation. The real magnitude of the death toll will remain hidden as NATO has not and will not investigate these deaths as per their own admission. It has now been confirmed that many women & children were among NATO’s victims, many of them killed in their sleep. Also, people who tried to rescue the victims as well as ambulances also came under attack from NATO and suffered casualties. NATO and USA have and will continue to harp about their campaign in Libya being a success. The media and right wing nutters will fall over themselves and sing praises about the “successful” campaign. The innocent men, women and children who were murdered by NATO may not share this assertion.

The price of US Drones

These are the victims of US terror campaign. These are the people who are simply added to the list of ‘militants’. No coverage of this horrendous human cost on the US TV networks. The majority of people who are being killed and injured (families killed, permanent disabilities …) in Pakistan tribal areas comprise of innocent men, women & children. No mention of the true facts and figures in official statements. Also, very disturbing to see the comments on the story. One would have thought that such ‘incidents’ would open the eyes of the US public. They would question their officials, end the drone terror campaign. Instead, the commentators refuse to open their eyes, refuse to blame their military and govt. Salute the troops. Hail the heroes. Those brave US warriors are liberating people [... by murdering them]. To kill people in a mass genocide like the US drone campaign and still have the gall to claim that such actions are part of a moral and just cause. Shameful.

May GOD grant this brave little girl health, happiness and much more. May GOD raise the station of all the victims, those martyred, those injured, both in this life and the next.

Infant girl’s body with bullet marks buried in unmarked grave

Chahal (Baramulla), Dec 09: Atta Muhammad has buried 235 bodies of unidentified people. But it was the burial of a six-month-old baby girl in 2002 that brought tears to his eyes for the first time.

“She was brought here by policemen in a vehicle and handed over to me for burial. I buried her as per the Islamic rites. The girl was not more than six months old,” the 75-year-old grave digger says in a choked voice.
“When I took her for burial bath, I saw a bullet wound near her belly. That was for the first time I wept while burying somebody.”

The infant’s body is among the 250 bodies buried in one of the valley’s biggest graveyard of unidentified people at village Chahal in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Meanwhile, human rights activists say the revelation of the grave of the infant girl contradicts the claims of the government and security agencies.
